I just finished the large pot I’ve been working on for the past few weeks. My goal was to experiment with texture and give myself the freedom to play and explore. I’m unsure how the burnout will turn out, so there’s still a lot to learn once the piece is bisqued. I’ve gathered four glaze recipes to test— a mix of dark, reflective, and crawling glazes—that I hope will enhance the textures I’m incorporating.
This week, I’m starting on my chair build. I usually work in multiples as a safeguard, so I plan to make two. If both turn out well, the final piece will be a pair. I’m still figuring out how the towel component will interact with the chair, but I think the next step is to start making beads for some mockups. It’s hard to visualize without seeing how they physically relate. This semester feels like it’s moving at warp speed, and I’m just trying to keep up.
