This week has been a mix of slow, steady work with a burst of productivity toward the end. I rented some audio equipment from the gear lab to record sounds from my sculptures, which helped me figure out how I want to approach the final recordings. One thing I definitely learned is that I need a better soundproof space—probably not my bathtub. I got some recordings and started playing around with them in TouchDesigner. It hit me pretty quickly that it's going to take a lot of time to manipulate the sounds into something visually interesting, so I’m bracing myself for many hours of YouTube tutorials.

Over the weekend, I switched gears and threw some larger forms that I’ll be working on this week. I’ve already tried hand-building them twice but ended up scrapping both because I didn’t like how they were turning out. I don’t usually throw pieces this big, but it felt good to know I can still get them done when I need to. Now I’m looking forward to finishing them up so I can start working on the surfaces, which is the part I’m most excited about.
