12.7-12.15

12.7-12.15

As the semester is drawing to a close, I am finally beginning to reflect on the past few months and what it has meant for my practice. When I applied to this program, one of the main drivers was to push myself to commit more time to making, and I can solidly say that this has been the case. This fall has been a whirlwind to say the least, but I feel proud of what I have been able to make.

The wood fire really sparked something in me. It was great to have Molly's experience and help explaining the ins and outs of firing this particular kiln. I remember helping fire an anagama kiln in undergrad, but this was much more helpful in understanding how to control the firing. I am so happy with the results. I never really thought that atmospherics would captivate my imagination so much, but I am having many ideas for what I want to try in the spring firing.
