11.25 - 12.1

11.25 - 12.1

Now that I have all my work ready, I'm finally excited for the woodfire. I spent most of yesterday glazing, which I've realized is my least favorite task in the world. However, while performing this monotonous but necessary work, I found myself generating ideas for pieces I want to create in the next firing. I took some time to make notes and sketch a few concepts that will be priorities for the spring.

I threw three lamp bases that I am really looking forward to firing this week. My current approach involves using glaze as an accent, rubbing it into the texture and then washing it away to reveal the clay body.

I am happy with the amount of work I've been able to produce this semester. I'm hoping to end the month with another burst of creativity, and I feel proud of most of the work I've made.
